Here's a very simple and affordable tip to enjoy your coffee more: drink it cold! Here's why :
First, coffee, like any other food, is perishable. A coffee bean that is a few months old loses all its characteristic aromas. The tip: keep your coffee in an airtight container in a cool, dry place (between 10 and 15 degrees).
Second, much like a cut apple turning yellow, coffee deteriorates quickly when ground. It is therefore really better to grind it just before consumption to be able to taste it at its best!
Ultimately, heavily roasted coffee is just ash. Some industrial roasting companies tend to carbonize their coffee because the ash keeps well. But does it really taste like coffee? Let us doubt. Roasting is a complex phenomenon that requires expertise that only truly passionate roasters master. For a tasty coffee, visit a roaster or specialty retailer near you, ask them about their products, that's all they want! These people will quickly get you hooked, like us deep down ;)
