The 3rd Yyrgacheffe producing region, Guji (Oromia), stands out from its sisters Kochere and Sidamo by the floral and straight appearance of its coffees. Using the washed process, the cherries come from forests surrounding the farming villages of this region. With its notes of stone fruit and black tea, it's a perfect coffee to celebrate spring!
Learn more about this cafe:
Guji's coffee culture is rooted in Ethiopian traditions: small farmers who plant coffee alongside a multitude of other foods, often for personal or very local consumption. Their agriculture is green by default, they use very few pesticides and chemical fertilizers, taking advantage of the altitude as a natural barrier against disease. Their harvest is also done manually, without the help of machines, so we are dealing with a coffee produced with attention and a lot of hard work.
